Abstract:
I determine the influence of the industry financial composition on the export flow between Pakistan and its trading partners. The importing countries are split according to their OECD membership status and their level of banking credit. The degree of financial dependence and asset tangibility of an industry can determine the ability of firms to obtain external finance and fund international trading activities. On the other hand, the level of financial development and exogenous shocks to the banking credit of the importing country is likely to impact the influence of the industry-level financial composition on the exports from Pakistan.
