Attributive estimation of methodical approaches to the diagnostics of enterprises’ insolvency

Abstract: In the article methodical approaches to the diagnostics of enterprises’ insolvency are systematized by criteria of: direction of research, comprehensiveness and instruments. By direction of methodical approaches to the diagnostics of enterprises’ insolvency were divided into those which analyzes the application of external and internal environment of the enterprise. In terms of comprehensiveness methodical approaches to the diagnostics of enterprises’ insolvency were merged into three groups: methods based on the analysis of one indicator of the enterprise; methodological approaches used a group of indicators and methodical approaches of complex analysis of the internal or external environment of enterprises. Depending on the tools that used in the development of methodical approaches to the diagnostics of enterprises’ insolvency, were identified the following groups of methods: expert, providing a qualitative assessment of individual characteristics of financial-economic activity; analysis, that are based on the analysis of quantitative indicators of the enterprise; economic-mathematical model constructed by using mathematical tools. The last group of methods accommodates multiplicative model discriminant analysis, multiple regression, logistic regression, vector autoregression and models based on artificial intelligence. Based on a qualitative assessment of foreign and domestic methods of diagnostics of enterprises’ insolvency were identified their strengths and weaknesses, identified class of models that are most appropriate for the diagnostics of insolvency of domestic enterprises. The common disadvantage of analyzed methodical approaches to the diagnostics of enterprises’ insolvency are their focus on the evaluation of the probability of bankruptcy and they make it impossible to determine the current and prospective insolvency of enterprises. In the article also the recommendations for further research in this area are provided.
