Abstract:
Abstract Excessive emissions of greenhouse gases have caused great harm to the global environment. Countries have started actively implementing carbon cap-and-trade (CAT) mechanisms to maintain sustainable economic and social development. Most existing research paradigms focus on modelling and empirical evidence, and there is a lack of global investigations on CAT mechanisms. This research study provides an overview and analysis of CAT mechanisms. A descriptive analysis and summary analysis of 104 literature in the field of CAT mechanisms is undertaken, mainly from the national, industry, and enterprise operation levels, and the research outcomes of the relevant literature are classified, summarised and analysed. The following two outlooks from the enterprise and industry levels were developed and the national level, enriching the research on CAT mechanisms and providing a reference for a CAT market operation.
