Chapter Chapter 1 in Human Capital and Regional Development in Europe, 2022, pp 1-3 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Human capital is a crucial factor to understand regional development. However, while the relevance of human capital is nowadays acknowledged, this has not always been the case. Thus, this chapter indicates the discussions over time on the importance of human capital and its connection to recent research on regional development. Both theoretical considerations and quantitative measurement are discussed. It further introduces the structure and the chapters of the book.
