Abstract:
Abstract In industrial environments, energy efficiency is becoming attraction of the industrialists and the local governments. The concept has become vigorous among other decision-making attributes which can affect performance, productivity, cost, flexibility and effective use of the resources. The energy consumption of the various components of the systems, such as machine tools, is considered using average energy consumption models. This study depicts the hierarchy of energy efficient attributes of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) as decision making tool in process industry. While implementing OEE, the attributes associated with energy losses drew attention of researchers. These attributes are used for illustration in this paper. The end task is to raise productivity and performance. An ordered structure of the nine attributes is generated for the four alternatives (output factors) in this case. AHP forecasts the acceptability of the attributes through a flow chart and obtain a reliable hierarchy of factors. The study also identifies the extensive literature for constructive OEE’s factors and AHP paradigms. AHP works as an optimal strategy to examine the impact of OEE practices on availability rate, performance rate and quality rate. The authors have proposed bundles of attributes (factors) which can lead an industry towards the valuable outcomes such as overall productivity, customer satisfaction, organizational achievement and quality improvements. The results are incorporated for the benefits of policy-makers.
