Abstract:
Abstract— The paper considers issues concerning the development of national school for macrostructural analysis and forecasting. It is shown that the evolution of structural economic research over the past hundred years was directly related to the development of the economy and met the objectives of substantiating economic policy. The reasons for the increase or decrease in interest in macrostructural studies in Russian and world economic science are considered. The high relevance of macrostructural analysis and forecasting in modern Russian conditions is substantiated. It is stated that the most important task for macrostructural analysis is combining the elements of socioeconomic and scientific and technical forecasting in order to substantiate the strategy of long-term economic development. The possibilities of assessing the medium- and long-term potential of economic growth using macroeconomic and intersectoral tools are demonstrated.
