I Know You Are, but What Am I? Adolescents' Third-Person Perception Regarding Dating Violence

Abstract: A survey of adolescents ( N = 1,646) documented third-person perception regarding media depictions of dating/relationship violence. It also contributes to the growing literature documenting optimistic bias as a strong predictor of third-person perception and draws from the optimistic bias literature considering new variables including self-esteem, self-efficacy, and experience with violence.
