[EN] This study analyzes the impacts of increasing diversification in the countries/banks that provide funds to Turkish banking sector on the sensitivity of cross-border bank loans to the global liquidity conditions. Recently, it has been observed that the sector continues to roll-over its debts from traditional financial centers, but also provides access to new countries/banks, and other country-based banks has become an important source of funds for Turkish banking sector. Estimation results indicate that increasing diversification of lender countries/banks lessens the sensitivity of cross-border bank loans to the global liquidity conditions and thereby limit the spillover effects of any financial shocks occurred in systemically important countries or banks.
