Abstract:
This study focuses on the relationship between consumer spending and their main factors in Bulgarian recessionary economy. The survey provides estimates of the relationships between variables and parameters in the consumption function. Unlike other publications in this field, using aggregate data, this research takes into account differences in poor and rich households. This allows for a realistic assessment of the dynamics and trends in the consumption of different groups, as well as a detailed analysis of the impact of macroeconomic policy on it. Results allow to make several conclusions summarizing the nature and the factors that motivate consumer behavior and differences in consumption patterns of households surveyed categories.
