Abstract: This study covers the concepts of rent and leases, according to the Bulgarian legislation and their growth factors: high labour productivity, EU agricultural subsidies and the growth in agrarian commodities prices. Furthermore, the relation between rent/lease and the value of agricultural land have been analyzed, as well also the dynamics and trends in their development for the period 2001 – 2022 in two Dobrudzha regions in Bulgaria. Finally, some main conclusions about the topic are presented.
