Abstract:
Recent research has demonstrated that ICT has had a significant impact on the growth of GDP and productivity, although the scope of this impact and its direction are still subject to scientific controversy. Evidence is mounting that ICT has had a positive growth and productivity contribution not only in ICT producing but also in ICT using industries. Overall, ICT investment is one important factor among others contributing to explain the divergence in growth performance between countries.
