Abstract:
This project was part of the WIFO-led Framework Contract and provided one of the background studies for the European Competitiveness Report 2013. It was conducted in cooperation with wiiw. Speeding up the adjustment of industry to structural changes is an objective in the EU's industrial policy and has been enshrined in European law since the Treaty of Maastricht. The study investigates the value added of industrial policy at the EU level and explores its interaction with competition, state-aid and trade policies.
