Abstract:
Venture firms' technological capabilities play a critical role in their internationalization. Applying a contingency‐based approach to the internationalization of technology‐based ventures, this study analyzes the moderating effects of strategic orientation on the relationship between technological capabilities and internationalization. The statistical analysis indicates that different strategic orientation types moderate the relationship between technological capabilities and internationalization in different directions. These findings suggest that strategic orientation offers an important context for understanding the internationalization of technology‐based ventures.
