Abstract:
This paper uses the World Bank survey database of Chinese enterprises to investigate the impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on Chinese enterprises' innovation performance and the internal mechanism at the micro‐level. The results show that ICTs have significantly improved the innovation performance of Chinese enterprises. This conclusion does not change with the addition of other control variables and dummy variables, showing strong robustness. This study also finds that the impact of ICTs on enterprise innovation performance shows obvious heterogeneity across different industries and regions. We should enhance the transmission effect of ICTs on enterprise innovation performance.
