IU Discussion Papers – Design, Architektur & Bau from IU International University of Applied Sciences

Abstract: The growing phenomenon of Retro Gaming - understood as the enjoyment of classic game culture (software- and hardwarewise) - can be linked to the so-called Demoscene, a global non-commercial collective of creative minds. In this paper, we discuss the key question whether constraints bring forth creativity focussing upon the socio-cultural and technological framework of Retro Gaming.
