Abstract: This paper presents a book review of “Risk theory in Islamic Economics”, authored by Dr. Adnan Abdullah Aweidah and published by the IIIT in 2010. This book dealt with risk as a jurisprudence-economic theory whose sources are based upon the texts of Islamic jurisprudence and the teachings of the Shari’ah, to clarify the legislative reasoning for permissibility and prohibition the jurisprudence of financial transactions. The author applied this theory to judge the activities of Islamic banks and financial markets.
