Abstract: The use of cadavers in medical education is common, but the costs and limited availability associated with this practice have caused educators to look for alternatives such as 3D printed models (3DPM). A limited amount of studies have shown 3DPM to be a valuable educational tool that offers an improved experience compared to 2D images. Most of these studies have used 3DPM designed using the results of CT/MRI scans, offering extremely accurate representation of the human body. However, the use of CT/ MRI scans to create 3DPM does not allow for customization of which structures are represented or clear delineation of individual anatomical structures.
