Abstract:
The study aimed to explore a new imaging biomarker based on quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) using linear discriminant analysis (LDA) method for improving early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. 34 PD patients and 15 controls were enrolled, and the PD patients were divided into two groups (early-stage and advanced-stage groups) based on the Hoehn-Yahr assessment. Magnetic susceptibilities in six brain structures, including the caudate nucleus (CN), globus pallidus (GP), thalamus (THA), putamen (PUT), substantia nigra (SN) and red nucleus (RN), were measured. Mean susceptibilities were measured and compared between the PD patients and controls.
