Abstract: The auditory system is a complex network of anatomical and physiological components that enable the detec- tion, processing, and interpretation of sound. It spans from the peripheral structures, such as the outer ear, mid- dle ear, and cochlea, to central pathways in the brainstem and auditory cortex. This system translates acoustic signals into meaningful perceptions of pitch, volume, timbre, and spatial location.
