Abstract:
The article analyzes the trends and specifics in the accculturation of labor migrants and its relationship with social capital. The key aspects of the sociocultural adaptation of migrants are highlighted, directly or indirectly influencing the forms of their integration into the host society. It is noted that the presence of social capital in the migrant community is critically important both for the “gentle†incorporation of migrants into the new environment and for the spread of deviant forms of interaction with the host society. The sociocultural and socio-psychological factors that contribute to the formation of adequate conditions for the effective acculturation of migrant communities, taking into account their ethnic characteristics, are considered. It is highlighted that the presence of social capital of the parties (migrants and the host society), under favorable conditions, creates an optimal communication space within which sociocultural exchange occurs, the effectiveness of which determines the optimal balance for the professional and cultural inclusion of migrants in for them new environment.Â
