The increase in the number of bankruptcies, especially of individuals, acts as an indicator to point out the issues faced by the state. The author considers the main external and internal factors affecting the solvency of the population and, as a result, the bankruptcy of individuals in Russia. It is highlighted that the lack of a comprehensive analysis of the impact of bankruptcy of individuals on the Russian economy creates the risk of insufficient preparation of strategies and measures to ensure the financial stability of the population.
