Peculiarities of product portfolio formation in pharmaceutical market

Abstract: The article examines the main characteristics and features of the pharmaceutical market, which include: high costs of the market,highly qualified personnel, availability of special equipment, high rates of development, and others. Particular attention is paid to the formation of the product portfolio of pharmaceutical companies. This article describes the use of the two methods - the matrixes of the Boston Consulting Group and the McKinsey matrixes for forming the product portfolio of the pharmaceutical company “Evalar†. Using those techniques, allows pharmaceutical companies to form their product portfolio best.
