Current state and directions of distance education systems development

Abstract:
The review of the current state of distance education is presented.The main DE systems and the directions of their further development are considered. Particular emphasis is placed on innovative technologies for mass-scale global online DE: massive open online courses, or MOOC. For this perspective direction, an attempt was made to comprehend the first results and the main problem areas for the implementation of educational process.
