The use of crowdsourcing in order to attract citizens to address issues of socio-economic development of local areas

Abstract:
The article describes the current state of local government. Taking into account the diversity of the municipalities the article notes the urgency of priority for considered local issues (projects) requiring the formation of the system, ensuring community participation in management decisions development, as a customer and consumer of local government services. To ensure participation of the population in the solution of local issues as well as the involvement of local authorities in socially meaningful for local community activities on a grant basis it is proposed to use modern social technology - crowdsourcing. The paper discusses the successful practices of crowdsourcing technology in the Russian Federation and directions and guidelines for its application in the activities of local authorities in addressing issues of local importance. Suggestions based on the results of the research can be used in local government. Research findings, methodological principles and practical recommendations presented in the work, are intended to facilitate in-depth understanding of the current problems of development of local self-government.
