Abstract:
Trade openness is the movement of goods and services without restrictions and the absence of restrictions that prevent competition between producers. This research aims to examine the effect of trade openness on economic growth in Turkey for the period 1970-2022. In the study, fractional frequency Fourier ADF and Fourier ADL techniques and cointegration coefficient estimators were used. As a result of the study, it was found that trade openness, gross fixed capital investments and foreign capital inflows had a positive impact on economic growth. The econometric application used in this study on the subject is the first study in Turkey.
