THE RISE AND FALL OF STRATEGIC PLANNING: ARGUMENTS AND FACTS

Abstract: The article considers Mintzberg’s opinion concerning the fall of strategic planning as a managerial concept. The author brings to light Mintzberg’s works which are in field of study on this topic. In the article is argued that strategic planning concept isn’t dead – it changed. It seems Mintzberg made some fatal errors that fetter him on the wrong way. Finally author enlightens the evolution of strategic planning at the General Electric Company during 1940-2006.
