Abstract: The article is devoted to the modern problems in the performance of customs operations and the classification of foreign goods imported into Russia. Under sanctions the import of the most important goods for the Russian economy is hampered to the limit. At the same time, the analysis of practice indicates the presence of many precedents for tightening customs clearance of imported goods, which creates serious obstacles for participants in foreign economic activity. In this regard, the article shows the most acute problems of customs clearance, which pose a real threat to the import of essential goods, and ways to solve them.
