Abstract: The article examines the directions of development of the agricultural sector of the economy of the Russian Federation, substantiates the importance of agriculture for its economy, analyzes the history of its development, structure, differentiation of management bodies, their tasks and functions. Particular attention is paid to the regulatory framework governing the functioning of the agro-industrial complex, as well as the problems it faces and solves, as well as future trends in its development, including various state programs and federal projects, and their financial support.
