Abstract: The article contains a study of the dynamics and geographical structure of foreign trade relations of Russia in recent years, including the period after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by some Western countries and «mirror» countermeasures of the Russian Federation. The author considered Russia's participation in international commercial trade, regional commodity exchange in the modern period of time. Extensive statistical and actual data for 2001-2015 are summarized, which allowed to draw conclusions about the temporary regrouping of forces among the leading exporters. Despite external challenges, the Russian Federation remains a major exporter and importer of goods.
