The significance of the free trade zone EAEU - Vietnam and its perspectives

Abstract: The article considers the prospects for economic cooperation of EAEU countries with Vietnam in the light of EAEU - Vietnam free trade agreement signed in 2015; the prospects of EAEC - Vietnam FTA influence on the structure of imports and exports of member countries of the agreement, as well as the volume and direction of investment flows, are analyzed, taking into consideration great economic potential of the EAEC and that Vietnam is a fast developing country. The basis of the agreement includes countries’ obligations to facilitate access to their markets in the framework of mutual trade of goods and services. The agreement provides reduction of import duties, obligations of intellectual property rights protection, cooperation in the sphere of e-commerce, as well as in public procurement; and establishes common principles of rivalry protection.
