Abstract: As per Gartner, Big Data is high-volume, high-velocity and high-variety information assets that demand cost effective, innovative forms of information processing for enhanced insight and decision making. Big Data is data whose scale, diversity, and complexity require new architecture, techniques, algorithms, and analytics to manage it and extract value and hidden knowledge from both structured and unstructured data. Such large data is difficult to process using traditional database and software techniques. One of the greatest scientific challenges of the 21st century is to effectively understand and make use of the vast amount of information being produced. Data analytics will be among our most important tools in helping to understand such large-scale information.
