Abstract: This paper is set to examine demography in Nigeria, highlighting its problems and prospects. It discusses why the Nigerian population is increasing drastically and the possible implications of an unchecked rapidly growing Nigerian population. It suggests ways of solving the Nigerian demographic problems thus reducing its growth to pave way for the rapid socio-economic development and Government achievement in line with the Government realization of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
