Abstract: The cure for hypertension remains a global challenge. In the past numerous surveys had been conducted to determine the prevalence of hypertension in different settings but unfortunately these surveys are mostly done in developed countries.. The present pilot study evaluated the prevalence of hypertension in an urban area in patients living in a resource poor country in Africa.
