Sustainable Use of Natural Zeolites in Aquaculture A Short Review

Abstract: Aquaculture contributes with 44.14% of total global fish production in 2014 compared with 4% in 1970 [1], while in Egypt, it contributes with 76% of the total Egyptian fish production in 2015 compared with 15% in 1995 [2]. As a result of the negative impacts of traditional aquaculture systems, sustainable farming systems started to attract the attention of decision makers in many countries around the world. Zeolites is considered, as one of the most promising solutions which raised strongly a few years ago to achieve sustainability in aquaculture sector. Herein lies the importance of zeolite on aquaculture.
