Abstract: Antimicrobial agent is a general term that is mainly concerned with antibiotics, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiprotozoans. The antimicrobial agent is a substance that kills or inhibits the growth of microorganism like bacteria, fungi and protozoan. Antimicrobial agents are capable of acting by two modes either by inhibiting the spread of the infectious agent (micro biostatic) or by killing it outright (microbiocidal). The treatment of using antimicrobial agents is currently facing its own limitation, 1,2 due to the development of resistance by the microbes over the period of time.
