Abstract: Alzheimer disease (AD) has become one of the most common chronic diseases in developed countries. There are 35.6 million people worldwide with dementia in 2010. The medical literature shows that cardiovascular disease (CVD) and its risk factors (CRF) are associated with an increased risk of AD, and its precursor, mild cognitive impairment. The relationship between AD and vascular dementia is not only gnosological, but also has important therapeutic and preventive implications.
