Abstract: We prove two results for exchange economies with / goods, n individuals without any differentiability assumption: 1. the multiplicity of equilibria for at least one initial allocation is a necessary condition for the existence of the global transfer paradox; 2. the multiplicity of equilibria for at least one initial allocation is a sufficient condition for the existence of the global transfer paradox.
