Abstract:
Being the most important industry in the world, tourism is often seen as a salutary solutin for helping the economic development of a country leading to an increase in the life standards. But what is the real situation? We try to define tourism and globalization, to present shortly the main tendencies of the international tourism as well as the effects of the increase for the mass-tourism like they were noticed at the international level. Analysing the present-day tendencies of the tourism and take into consideration the specific features and the potencialities of the Romanian tourism, we’ll suggest some strategies that could be considered for its development and its becoming a real competitor on the world market. A strategic planning leads to a sustainable tourism development.
