Abstract: The call for digitisation has accelerated through the COVID-19 pandemic, and digitisation has been identified as a key catalyst for recovery and sustained growth. There is however a concern that for developing countries, particularly in Africa, the push for digitisation and getting more people ‘online’ can be a double-edged sword if not regulated.
