Abstract: The study analyzed the determinants of Brazilian textile and apparel exports to China, by state, from 2002 to 2017, using a dynamic panel using the Generalized Moments Method (GMM). The main variables considered were external income, state GDP and real exchange rate, all weighted by the weight of bilateral textile trade between each Brazilian state and China. The results showed that textile ex-ports from Brazilian states to China are determined by foreign income, China’s GDP (demand side), and state GDP (supply side). In recent years, China has be-come one of Brazil’s biggest trading partners and is the main trading partner in the textile and apparel sector. Brazilian states can create dynamism in international trade, regardless of the federal structure.
