Abstract:
The overall objective of the research is to identify these developmental differences for the State of Amazonas Mesoregions. Specifically, it seeks to develop indices related to selected aspects of development and point out the areas with higher and lower levels of development by Mesoregion. For a better analysis of these differences, each variable used to measure the development of a region is statistically treated by the technique of Multivariate Analysis, where key components are highlighted and used in the preparation of socio- economic indices (Comprehensive Development Index, Population Level Index and Expense Allocation). Applying this technique to the Mesoregions the Amazon, it is possible to assess its merits, demonstrating the differences present in the process of development of each of them, and allows, through the elaborate indexes, a view of both the regions that have a higher socioeconomic performance as the who are struggling to essences areas for development.
