Abstract: The objectify of this paper is to analyze the use of the royalties paid by Itaipu Binacional Company in the primary sector from Marechal Cândido Rondon city in the Paraná State in Brazil, after the formation of Itaipu Lake. The research performed a historical analysis of the municipality and data for the transfer of royalties to the municipality during the period 1992 to 2008.
