Abstract:
The Regional Rail Reorganization Act of 1973 if implemented as now planned will make many changes in approaches to rural development. Agricultural economists throughout the U.S. should be aware of the challenges the approach used presents to s01,1nddecision making. It is suggested the AAEA take the leadership in organizing a national task force to develop guidelines for a national transportation policy.
