Wilmer M. Harper and Martin J. Blake

No 278217, 1979 Annual Meeting, July 29-August 1, Pullman, Washington from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: For many international students studying Agricultural Economics English is'not their first language nor the language of academic instruction intheir home country. This paper evaluates a program designed to'permit students to begin their graduate training while simultaneously taking an intensive course in English as a second language. It is found that there is no significant difference in the performance of students in this program and other international students that began their training with a capability in English.
