MULTIPLE CROP SUPPLY COMPONENT OF THE WORLD GRAINS, OILSEEDS, AND LIVESTOCK MODEL

Karen Liu

No 278876, 1980 Annual Meeting, July 27-30, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to resolve conceptual problems in the crop supply component of the present GOL model and to develop the conceptual framework for a multiple-product production system of a multiple -commodity agricultural trade model. The major emphasis on the revision of the crop supply system is structural consistency in order to assure consistent acreage allocation among crops and to impose total arable land area constraints on supply.
