Abstract:
The general objectives of this paper are to further develop procedures for analyzing the profitability and pricing of farm loans by agricultural banks. Following sections review the current setting for farm loan pricing, and develop the principles and procedures of customer profitability analyses (CPA) under conditions of lending and liquidity risks. These procedures are illustrated through an empirical application to farm customers of a commercial bank in Northern Illinois.
