Abstract: The cost characteristics of minimum tillage practices and the design of typical farm lease contracts in the Palouse region of Washington and Idaho combine to create a conflict in estimated short-run economic incentives for adoption between tenant operators and landlords that is contrary to past economic conventional wisdom.
