Emery N. Castle

No 279420, 1982 Annual Meeting, August 1-4, Logan, Utah from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: In this lecture I will (1) explain why agricultural economists tend to be Cornucopians rather than Malthusians; (2) examine how the availability of the natural resources of energy, water, and land will affect aggregate agricultural output in the United States for the remainder of this century; and (3) discuss public policies affecting natural resource use in agriculture.
