Abstract:
This paper evaluates the potential effects of the BGH adoption process on dairy farm survival by region and farm size. Substantial differences were found in the probability of farm survival under four BGH adoption scenarios. Lags in adoption of BGH may aggravate the current resource adjustment process in the dairy industry.
