Abstract:
West Plains Bank (West Plains, MO) has charged off nonperforming agricultural loans and has tightened its lending standards. There is optimism in the cattle and dairy industries and the pork industry has an uncertain future. Community agricultural banks must be aware of subtle local changes and take an active role in the diversification of local economies.
